Back in Rome this weekend and saw some things I didn't see my first visit! We visited both the colosseum and the roman forum which where both unique buildings I didn't truly understand until I was there seeing it in person. After our tours around the colosseum and the roman forum we went to St. Peters Basilica and saw the Sistine ceiling. Unfortunately we weren't able to take pictures of the ceiling so I have nothing to share with regards to that. I was surprised by how small it is or at least far away. You always see it up close so you would never expect it to be surrounded by so many other paintings. The next day those of us in Physical Anthropology like I am had to go to the zoo in Rome to do our primate observation where you pick a type of primate to observe for at least 45 minutes. I picked the adorable Japanese Macaque. After my project I ran off to the next trip 10 minutes away at the Borghese Museum where I saw two sculptures that i've dreamed by favorite so far. The very last day after seeing most of the main things in Rome Risa, Yuni, Kat, and I went to the Roman Aquaduct. Going there was definitely a place I would return to but next time with a picnic blanket and plenty of food!
